Apanui Linear Park
The Apanui Linear Park and adjacent park areas have been identified as providing a potential opportunity to improve the current flooding situation through the enhancement of primary infrastructure, overland flow paths and the provision of additional flood storage volumes. ARAL were commissioned to undertake a high-level study and test the project feasibility at Apanui.
Kirimoko Park is an innovative 130-lot green-field residential subdivision in Wanaka, New Zealand, that exemplifies effective integration of landscape architecture and urban design with stormwater management function.
ARAL undertook the concept through to detailed design and planning services for the Hobson Bay Kayak Access Structure creating a low-impact solution that provided for the needs of local residents and water activity enthusiasts.
Public Sector Planning RMA SHA
ARAL are currently on the Auckland Council Resource Consent Supplier Panel. This is a panel of planners, engineers and other experts who are involved in the processing and provision of technical input on resource consent applications on the behalf of Auckland Council’s resource consent department.
ARAL was commissioned to provide civil infrastructure and engineering services for all roading, earthworks, stormwater, wastewater, water supply and utility services for the site, including consenting, design, procurement and construction observation and contract administration for the development of the site into approximately 258 lots.
Kaipara Sub-regional Spatial Plan
In 2019 AR & Associates (ARAL) and Resilio Studio was commissioned by the Kaipara District Council (KDC) to provide a holistic Spatial Plan covering the Kaipara’s rural communities which will flow into a future statutory District Plan review process. The plan needed to coalesce previous and current documents, with a perspective to implement the recommendations in the District Plan review scheduled for June 2021.
In collaboration with Boffa Miskell Ltd, AR & Associates was commissioned by Auckland Council in 2010 to initially undertake a detailed options assessment for the re-development of this facility, including a catchment-wide hydrological analysis and hydraulic analysis to assess its performance, and subsequently the detailed design, costing and preparation of contract documentation which was completed in 2015.
Lake Pupuke Walkway
Auckland Council’s Parks Department commissioned ARAL and Bespoke to develop a design to restore the bund wall, incorporate a walkway for public use, formalise the spillway between the two lakes, improve the amenity of the site, remove exotic species and incorporate native planting both along the bund and in Quarry Lake itself to improve the ecological value of both the park and Quarry Lake.
ARAL was engaged by Auckland Council’s Stormwater Planning team to undertake an options assessment analysis to address these flooding issues. This primarily involved provision of temporary detention storage within Sunnynook Park for the reduction of peak flows.
ARAL was commissioned by the Greater Wellington Regional Council to undertake technical review and specialist stormwater inputs on operational and (to a lesser extent) construction stormwater management for the Transmission Gully Project in the Wellington Region.
AR & Associates was commissioned to undertake the design of civil engineering and infrastructure works along with construction supervision, contract administration and certification for the Oraha Road Special Housing Area Subdivision.
Kaipara Harbour Wharves Feasibility Study
AR & Associates Ltd was commissioned to create a strategic plan that creates a vision for water transport on the Kaipara Harbour to unlock the district’s latent potential by generating new sustainable economic activity through improved transport connections.
