We are looking for an ambitious and driven Senior Associate – Wellington Area Manager to help us expand our Civil Engineering and Surveying operations within Wellington and the central North Island.

You will be at the forefront of establishing and leading our new office and local team, and will have the dedication and skill to create and apply an effective business strategy.

The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through Civil, Surveying and Planning project activity and forging strong relationships with clients. This role requires someone with proven leadership and business acumen in addition to civil engineering experience and qualifications (CPEng). The role is a ‘blend’ of technical know-how and business leadership and provides an exciting opportunity to ‘make the role your own’ and help us in growing the business and providing service excellence to our valued clients.

Supporting the wider Civil, Surveying and Planning teams, this is a new role reporting to the Senior Associate – Civil Engineering and Marketing Manager.

AR & Associates’ Directors are in the process of increasing employee ownership in the business through a series of share option offers made to selected staff over the next 5 years. This role therefore comes with a significant opportunity to participate in the equity of the company after completing one year in employment, subject to achieving mutually agreed KPI’s.

A fantastic opportunity is available for a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer at AR & Associates (ARAL) to join our Civil team in Auckland. Our business relies on having high-quality civil design outputs and this is a key role in ensuring the consistency and quality of our work.


The role involves design of roading and infrastructure projects using Civil3D and AutoCAD, including inputs from concept to through to construction stages. Work will be primarily in the land development space and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with roading and infrastructure design required.
